Yoinks! What's this then?
It's all well and good being able to control winamp from
your browser, but what if all you actually do with it is press
"Next" when a track you don't want to listen to
comes on? Bit of a faff , going through fancy web pages just
to press one button.
If only there was an easier way...
You're about to say "That's where WawiTray comes
in!", aren't you...
Umm, yes, sorry. This is indeed where WawiTray comes in.
There are various system tray applets to control winamp
kicking around. WawiTray is the demon child of some freakish
genetic experiment between Wawi and these things. It'll sit in
your system tray and control winamp on another
computer.
Hmm, that could
be quite funky. What does it look like?
<sits at piano> It looks, ladies and gentlemen, a little something like
this...

Cor! It tells me the name of the current track, too?
Yes indeed. Updated by default every ten
seconds, but you can change it.
Can I change what it does when I click on it?
Yup. By default it's "Next Track"
(because that's what I use most, and I'm a megalomaniac) but
it can also be Stop, Play, Pause or Previous Track.
I
bet it changes the volume too...
Indeed it does. Right click on the icon and
you get a menu of all sorts of stuff, including an option for
a little window to change the volume. How did you know?!
Because I'm you, you muppet.
Good point.
